Clallam Biomass Project

Northwest SEED and partners are developing outreach materials to provide education and training towards the development of a biomass energy project in Clallam County. In the past few years momentum has been building in Clallam County to develop projects that utilize the region’s wood waste to meet energy needs and enhance the local economy. Northwest SEED’s outreach will build on this momentum by providing training and technical assistance for business plan development based on fast pyrolysis, an innovative biomass energy technology.

PROJECT STATUS
Currently, Northwest SEED and partners, the Institute for Washington’s Future and Northwest Cooperative Development Center, are working with Clallam County leaders in government, business, forestry and tribes to develop a short workshop series and educational guides on fast pyrolysis.
